I fell in love with you
even when i did not know
the assorted details of your life
but only had to hear you speak

I am bewitched by your
tenderness and affection
shown to me though you
rarely know me

When i hear your voice
i want to scream and shout
and laugh and dance
all in one breath

But when i say i love you
you say you do not deserve it
when i say i need you
you say i deserve someone better
when i say my life is better
with you, you say i do not know any better

But i love you
and rejecting my love is like taking breath
from my nostrils because
